Spearfish to Provo
The morning began with a beautiful sunrise.
Today was cool
with periods of rain. Toward the end of the afternoon we saw a gorgeous rainbow. The lines are from the rear window defogger.
Conditions were not good to stop for a picnic but we drove about 300 kms
without seeing a suitable place to stop anyway. Wyoming has many wide-open
spaces that appear to be uninhabited by anything other than a few herds of
cows, one herd of buffalo and many pronghorn antelope. Everything is very dry.
At times we wondered what the animals were finding to eat, other than tufts of
sage.
Tomorrow we have only a few hours of driving time with a
tour of beautiful Bryce Canyon. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
John thought I should include this picture, highlighting a
very important activity of our group.
Bill enjoyed a big chocolate covered cone while giving Grace
a tiny vanilla cone.
